Missions Policy

Version 1.0In effect from 27 August 2026Partner terms

Version 1.0. Last updated: 27 August 2026.

This explains how Missions work, what is included, and what each of us is responsible for. It forms part of the Platform Terms and Conditions and is referred to in every Partnership Agreement.

1. What a Mission is

1.1 A Mission is a day built around a moment that matters, where a group of your people mentor at scale.

1.2 Missions are usually anchored to a date with meaning, such as International Women's Day, Social Mobility Day, National Apprenticeship Week, Black History Month or World Mental Health Day.

1.3 The point is momentum. A Mission rallies your team, brings new mentors into the program, and creates a burst of activity and content that a steady drip of sessions does not.

2. What is included

2.1 Two Missions per partnership year are included in every tier.

2.2 Each included Mission covers:

  • a planning session to pick the date, the theme and the target
  • promotion assets for your internal comms
  • mentor sign-up and briefing for anyone new
  • the mentoring sessions themselves, delivered virtually through the platform
  • live support from a mentorhero lead on the day
  • a post-Mission impact summary with numbers and highlights
  • social content celebrating what happened

2.3 Sessions delivered during a Mission count towards the 12 sessions per mentor per year. A Mission is a way of using your allocation, not extra allocation.

2.4 Additional Missions are available at the rate in our Pricing Schedule, agreed in writing before we commit to a date.

3. Choosing dates

3.1 Dates are chosen together, usually at the start of the partnership year, so both of us can plan.

3.2 Missions must be booked at least four weeks in advance. That is a firm minimum, not a guide. Anything shorter depends on our availability and is not guaranteed.

3.3 Popular dates go early. International Women's Day is the clearest example, and we cannot hold it for everyone.

3.4 We may decline a date where we are already committed, where it falls in a period we have told you is closed, or where four weeks' notice has not been given.

4. What you do

4.1 Name a lead for the Mission, usually your executive sponsor or one of your ambassadors.

4.2 Promote it internally and recruit your mentors. We give you the assets, but the internal push has to come from you.

4.3 Get your mentors signed up and onboarded before the day. Anyone not onboarded cannot mentor.

4.4 Give us the number of confirmed mentors at least [10] working days before the Mission, so we can match mentees to them.

4.5 Make sure your people have the time blocked, a private space and a working connection.

4.6 Tell us in advance if any of your mentors will be mentoring anyone under 18 or any vulnerable adult, so the checks in section 6 are in place.

5. What we do

5.1 Plan the Mission with you and agree the theme and the target.

5.2 Provide promotion assets and mentor briefing materials.

5.3 Recruit and match mentees, and manage the bookings.

5.4 Provide live support on the day.

5.5 Deliver the impact summary within [5] working days afterwards.

5.6 Produce social content celebrating the day, subject to the Marketing and Content Terms.

6. Safeguarding on a Mission day

6.1 Every rule in the Safeguarding Policy applies on a Mission exactly as it does on any other day. Volume changes nothing.

6.2 All sessions happen on the platform. A Mission is not an in-person event, and mentors do not meet mentees face to face.

6.3 Where a mentee is under 18 or a vulnerable adult, the mentor holds an enhanced DBS check or the equivalent in their country, or a parent, guardian or carer attends. The platform enforces this on a Mission day as on any other.

6.4 A concern raised during a Mission goes to the safeguarding lead immediately, the same as any other day. Nobody waits until the day is over.

6.5 We may pause or stop a Mission where a serious concern arises.

7. Cancelling or moving a Mission

7.1 Tell us as early as you can.

7.2 Cancelled or moved with more than four weeks' notice: no charge, and it stays in your allocation.

7.3 Cancelled or moved with less than four weeks' notice: it counts against your two Missions for the year, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

7.4 Where we have to cancel, we will offer an alternative date and it does not count against your allocation.

7.5 Where a Mission cannot go ahead for reasons outside either of our control, clause 7.7 of your Partnership Agreement applies and we will find another date.

8. Turnout

8.1 We do not guarantee a number of mentees, a number of sessions, or a level of turnout on the day.

8.2 Turnout depends heavily on how well the Mission is promoted internally. Where mentor numbers come in low, the impact will be lower, and that is not a failure on our part.

8.3 A Mission with low turnout still counts as one of your two.

8.4 Where we can see turnout is going to be a problem in the run up, we will tell you and suggest what would help.

8A. Costs and resource

8A.1 A Mission is planned, staffed and resourced in advance. Where you cancel inside four weeks, cut the mentor numbers materially, or the day does not go ahead because your side is not ready, we may recover our committed third party costs, including any freelancer, production or travel booking we cannot cancel.

8A.2 Where you ask for a Mission to be delivered in person, at your premises or at an event, that is a bespoke event under our Pricing Schedule, not an included Mission. It is quoted separately and agreed in writing.

8A.3 Anything you ask for on the day that is outside what section 2 includes, such as extra content capture, additional sessions beyond the agreed number, or bespoke reporting, is chargeable and agreed in writing before we do it.

8B. Naming, themes and association

8B.1 Missions are a mentorhero format. The name, the concept and the materials are ours, and you may not run your own Mission, or a program presented as one, without us.

8B.2 We choose which awareness days and moments we associate the program with. We may decline a theme, a date or a campaign angle where it does not fit the purpose of the program, where it is political or contested, or where it would create a reputational risk for either of us.

8B.3 Where a Mission is tied to an awareness day run by a third party, that organisation's own rules on naming, branding and participation apply, and neither of us speaks for them.

8C. Running the day

8C.1 Minimum numbers. A Mission needs enough confirmed mentors to be worth running. Where confirmed numbers fall below [10] at the point in clause 4.4, we may postpone it. A postponement for that reason does not count against your allocation, but it also does not oblige us to find a replacement date inside the same partnership year.

8C.2 We run Missions for many organisations. We may run a Mission for another client, including a competitor of yours, on the same date and around the same theme. Nothing about a Mission is exclusive to you, and a date is never held for one client alone.

8C.3 Third party dates change. Awareness days are run by other organisations and their dates, themes and rules can change. Where that happens we will agree a new date with you, and it is not a failure on our part.

8C.4 Press and guests. Neither of us invites press, film crews, external guests or observers to a Mission without agreeing it in writing first. Media enquiries on the day come to us, as set out in the Marketing and Content Terms.

8C.5 Recording. Only we record or capture content during a Mission, and only in line with section 9. Participants do not record, stream, screenshot or photograph sessions, and you will make that clear to your people before the day.

9. Content from a Mission

9.1 Content produced during a Mission is covered by the Marketing and Content Terms.

9.2 We own the photography, video and written content we produce, and you have a perpetual licence to use anything featuring your business.

9.3 No mentee appears in content without their explicit consent, and consent from a parent or guardian where they are under 18.

9.4 Screenshots and recordings by participants are not permitted, including on a Mission day.

10. Unused Missions

10.1 Missions do not roll over. Two per partnership year, used or not.

10.2 There is no refund, credit or fee reduction for a Mission you do not use.

10.3 Where you do not book either Mission by the end of the partnership year, we are not in breach. The obligation is to make them available, not to make you use them.
