Our platform
mentorhero does not run on a bought-in scheduling tool with a logo on top. The platform is ours, built for one job: moving half an hour of expert attention from someone who has it to someone who needs it, anywhere in the world, safely and repeatedly.
Bespoke to us
Built in-house, not assembled
Matching, consent, safeguarding, sessions and reporting live in one system we wrote ourselves. Nothing is stitched together from four subscriptions that were never designed to talk to each other.
Matching is the product
Most tools let people browse a directory and hope. We match on the question asked, the industry, the stage of career and the country, so a 30-minute session lands on the thing that was actually stuck.
Safeguarding is structural
Checks, consent records and conduct rules are enforced by the system rather than remembered by a person. A mentor cannot be matched with a 16 to 18 year old until the checks clear.
Cross-border by default
Time zones, languages, countries and city context are handled from the start. A mentee in Lagos and a mentor in Manchester is an ordinary session, not an exception someone has to arrange by hand.
Reporting funders can use
Employers, universities and public bodies see sessions offered, booked, attended and where they went. Impact is a live view of real activity, not a slide made at the end of the year.
Built to scale down as well as up
The same platform runs one mentor at a small business and thousands of sessions across a multinational. Nothing needs rebuilding when a programme grows.
What infrastructure means
01The network layer
Mentors across industries, cities and countries, with the experience and availability we actually hold, rather than a list of names who may or may not reply.
02The matching layer
A question in, a mentor out. We weigh industry, stage, geography, language and what the person said they want to walk away with.
03The trust layer
Identity and employment checks, enhanced DBS or the local equivalent where under 18s are involved, consent records, a code of conduct and reporting routes.
04The session layer
One focused 30 minutes, booked, held and recorded as having happened, on the record and never moved into private channels.
05The evidence layer
Who was reached, where, on what topic, and what happened next. The part that turns goodwill into something an organisation can fund with confidence.

How we build
mentorhero is live and active, with sessions running every week. The platform keeps growing behind that, and these are the rules every addition has to pass.
An off-the-shelf tool would have decided how mentoring works. Owning the platform means the system bends to the programme, not the other way round.
Common questions
Organisations run programmes on it rather than buying the software outright. Tell us what you need and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
Yes. Sessions run across cities and countries, with local safeguarding equivalents applied where under 18s are involved.
No. A mentor accepts a match and turns up for 30 minutes. Everything else is our job.
We hold only what is needed to match, run and report on sessions. See our privacy and trust pages for the detail.
