Marketing and Content Terms

Version 1.0In effect from 27 August 2026Partner terms

Version 1.0. Last updated: 27 August 2026.

These terms cover how mentorhero and a Business Client use each other's brands, and who owns the content the partnership produces. They form part of the Platform Terms and Conditions and of every Partnership Agreement, and they expand clause 5.4.

1. Using your brand

1.1 You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to use your company name, logo and approved brand assets to promote your participation in the program, for the duration of the partnership.

1.2 That includes our website, partner page, social channels, newsletters, decks, case studies, award entries, press activity and event materials.

1.3 We follow your brand guidelines where you give them to us. Send them at onboarding and tell us when they change.

1.4 We will not suggest that you endorse anything beyond the program, and we will not use your brand alongside a product or campaign that has nothing to do with mentoring.

1.5 After the partnership ends, we stop using your brand in new material within 30 days. Material already published, printed or distributed, and case studies, award entries and archived posts, can stay as a record of what happened.

2. Using our brand

2.1 We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the mentorhero name, logo and approved assets to promote your participation, for the duration of the partnership.

2.2 You may say that you partner with mentorhero, describe the program, and share content we have approved.

2.3 You may not alter our logo, use our brand on merchandise, register anything similar as a trade mark or domain, or use our brand in a way that suggests we endorse your products, your hiring, or anything other than the mentoring partnership.

2.4 You may not use our brand in paid advertising without our written agreement.

2.5 When the partnership ends, you stop using our brand within 30 days.

3. Who owns what we make

3.1 Photography, video, written content, designs and campaign material we produce belong to us, including anything produced at an event, a Mission or a filming day.

3.2 We grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use content we produce that features your business, for your own internal communications, careers pages, social channels and reporting. That licence survives the end of the partnership.

3.3 Content you produce belongs to you, and you grant us the same kind of licence to use content featuring the program.

3.4 Where we create something together, we own it, and clause 3.2 gives you the licence you need to use it.

3.5 Neither of us edits the other's content in a way that changes its meaning, takes a quote out of context, or misrepresents what happened.

4. Approval, and when it is not needed

4.1 We do not need your approval to state publicly that you are a partner, to use your logo on our partner page, or to include you in a list of participating organisations.

4.2 We will share content for your review before publication where it features your logo prominently, quotes one of your people, or makes a claim about your business.

4.3 Review means a reasonable look, not a rewrite. If we do not hear from you within five working days, we take it as approved.

4.4 You may not use approval to delay our campaign timings or to require changes unrelated to accuracy or your brand guidelines.

4.5 The same applies in reverse. Send us anything featuring our brand or our data before it goes out, and we will come back within five working days.

5. Your people in content

5.1 Anyone appearing in photography, video or a testimonial takes part voluntarily and gives their own consent. We collect it at the time.

5.2 If someone withdraws consent, we stop using that content in new material within a reasonable time. We are not required to recall material already published or printed.

5.3 Mentors may be asked to give a testimonial, take part in a video, or add their mentoring role to LinkedIn. Taking part is up to them, not to you, and we do not treat a refusal as a problem.

5.4 You will not require or pressure your people to take part in our content, and you will not offer them anything in return for doing so.

5A. Releases, locations and clearances

5A.1 Everyone appearing in photography or video signs a release before we use the material. We collect it at the time and keep it on file.

5A.2 Where content is produced at your premises, you confirm you have the right to allow filming there, that anyone in shot has agreed to be, and that no third party's brand, artwork or confidential material is captured without permission.

5A.3 You indemnify us against any claim brought by one of your people, a visitor to your site, or a third party, arising from content produced at your premises or featuring your business.

5A.4 Whoever supplies an element clears it. Music, fonts, stock imagery, footage and software used in content must be properly licensed by the party who brought it, for the uses set out in these terms.

5A.5 Neither of us uses generative AI to create or alter an image, voice or likeness of a real person from the other's organisation, or of any mentee, without their written consent.

5A.6 Photographers, videographers, designers and other contractors engaged by either of us assign their rights and waive their moral rights before their work is used. Neither of us uses content where that has not been done.

6. Mentees in content

6.1 Mentees are the reason the program exists and their stories are the most powerful thing we have. They are also the people most at risk of being used badly.

6.2 We never use a mentee's name, image or story without their explicit, informed and separately recorded consent.

6.3 We never use content featuring a mentee under 18 without consent from them and from a parent or guardian.

6.4 You may not contact a mentee for a testimonial, a case study or any other content. All approaches go through us.

6.5 A mentee can withdraw consent at any time and we act on it promptly.

7. Claims and accuracy

7.1 Neither of us makes a claim about the program's impact that the data does not support.

7.2 Numbers come from the platform. Where you use them publicly, use the figure from a mentorhero report, cite the period, and do not extrapolate.

7.3 Reports are not audited or independently assured. Do not describe them as if they were, in an ESG disclosure, a tender, an award entry or anywhere else.

7.4 Neither of us claims exclusivity. We work with many organisations, and you may see your competitors in our content.

7.5 Neither of us suggests that mentorhero guarantees jobs, outcomes or employment for anyone.

8. Press and announcements

8.1 We agree the wording and timing of the launch announcement together.

8.2 Neither of us issues a press release naming the other without agreeing it first.

8.3 Media enquiries about the program, and any enquiry touching a safeguarding matter, come to us. Neither of us comments publicly on a live concern.

8.4 Neither of us comments publicly on a dispute between us, during the partnership or afterwards.

9. Awards and tenders

9.1 You may enter awards or cite the partnership in tenders and social value submissions. Tell us, so we can help with the evidence and make sure the numbers are right.

9.2 We may enter the partnership for awards. Where your brand appears in an entry, clause 4.2 applies.

9.3 Where either of us wins something on the back of the partnership, we credit the other.

10. Taking content down

10.1 Either of us may ask, in writing, for specific content to be removed or amended, giving the reason.

10.2 The other acts on it within 10 working days, or sooner where it involves a safeguarding matter, a consent withdrawal or a legal issue, in which case it is immediate.

10.3 A takedown request does not require a reason to be justified where it concerns a person's consent or safety.

10A. If association becomes damaging

10A.1 Where continued public association with you would expose us to serious legal, ethical or reputational risk, we may immediately withdraw joint content, remove your logo from our site, stop promoting the partnership, and decline to publish anything further.

10A.2 Examples include a serious safeguarding failure, a criminal investigation, a discrimination or employment law finding, a public controversy that conflicts with the purpose of the program, or conduct by your leadership that would make our association with you untenable.

10A.3 We may also end the partnership under section 4 of your Partnership Agreement. Where we do, no refund or credit is due for the remainder of the term.

10A.4 We will tell you what we are doing and why, in writing. We are not obliged to wait for the outcome of an investigation before acting.

10A.5 The same right applies to you if we are the subject of something equivalent.

11. When the partnership ends

11.1 Both of us stop using the other's brand in new material within 30 days.

11.2 Published material, case studies, award entries and archived content can stay.

11.3 The licences in clause 3.2 and 3.3 continue, so both of us keep the right to use the content the partnership produced.

11.4 Clauses 5A, 6, 7, 8.4, 10A and this clause survive.
