Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. Here are the kinds we use, what they do and how to control them.Last updated 5 September 2026Version 2.0In effect from 5 September 2026What changed

The short version

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in and the site secure.
  • Analytics cookies tell us which pages people use, in aggregate only.
  • Your browser settings can block or delete any of them.

Essential cookies

These make the site work: keeping you signed in, remembering what you have typed into a form and keeping the platform secure. The site cannot run without them.

Preference and analytics cookies

Preference cookies remember choices you have made so you do not set them again. Analytics cookies show us which pages people visit and how the site performs, in aggregate, so we can improve it.

Third parties

Some cookies are set by providers we use to run the site, such as hosting and video. Their own policies apply to what they collect.

Controlling cookies

  • Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings
  • You can usually block third party cookies while keeping essential ones
  • Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working
  • Clearing cookies will sign you out
