International city, local rules.
Berlin hires from everywhere and still runs on conventions nobody writes down: how an application is structured, what a Werkstudent role leads to, when the switch from startup to corporate is possible. Half an hour with someone inside it saves months.

The people who arrive stuck.
Students and Werkstudenten
Working part-time inside a company and unsure how, or whether, that turns into a permanent role.
Internationals in the city
Fluent in the work, unfamiliar with the hiring conventions, and guessing at what an application should contain.
Startup people looking for stability
Three years of doing everything at once, and a CV that does not map onto a corporate job title.
The fields our mentors work in.
Mentors volunteer 30 minutes. Matching is cross-border, so a mentor outside the city is normal and often the point.
Startups and venture-backed companies
Technology, product and data
Creative, design and media
Sustainability and energy
Consulting and finance
Public bodies and NGOs
Four steps, one half hour.

The things people ask first.
Do sessions have to be in English?
English is the working language. Where a mentor and mentee share German, they are free to use it.
Can a mentor review my application documents?
A mentor can talk you through what a strong application looks like in their field. It is advice, not a document service.
Is the session really 30 minutes?
Yes. It is short on purpose: one problem, one honest answer, next steps written down.
